The Danville Warriors took on McCutcheon High School last night in their first-ever matchup as part of the new conference alignment, and the team delivered an impressive performance marked by grit, growth, and standout swims. The Danville girls’ team claimed a decisive 118–65 victory, showcasing depth across events and a strong competitive edge. The boys’ team battled hard throughout the meet but ultimately fell 68–110 to a strong McCutcheon squad. Across both teams, the Warriors earned 14 event wins, highlighting the collective strength of the lineup. Danville swimmers also posted six personal bests, a notable achievement given the demanding stretch of training and frequent meets the team has been navigating. Head coach Gus Moore emphasized the team’s development, noting that the Warriors continue to rise to every challenge: “Even with a tough schedule and heavy training, the team keeps showing growth. Competing against new conference opponents is pushing us in the best ways.” With momentum building early in the season and valuable experience gained against a new conference rival, Danville looks forward to carrying this progress into upcoming competitions.
